Our vision
Man and nature are inseparable. We depend on it and nature brings all kinds of benefits. Whereas in the past, mankind was subject to the whims of nature, today it is rather the other way around. Today, mankind uses the environment in such a way that nature suffers. The objective of Groen+Vooruit in Tervuren is to protect the valuable green space we still have and to provide more green space with more biodiversity. It is our joint responsibility to provide this protection. In the medium term, this should result in a Tervuren which has no negative impact on its environment, so that we can continue to enjoy it.

Our three priorities
- The Brabantse Wouden National Park has yet to decide where to locate its headquarters. We are in favour of housing them in the police station once the police move to their new offices at the AZ Keiberg. There are many synergies between the National Park, the regional visitor centre and the future municipal museum, where nature experience played an important role in the form of the School of Tervuren.
- Together, our gardens are an important part of nature and biodiversity. Garden Rangers are active in Tervuren. These are volunteers who help residents make their gardens more biodiverse. Apart from continuing to support the garden rangers and supporting the hedge planting actions of Regional Landscape Dijleland, we are still looking for ways to make gardens more biodiverse. For instance, we may launch a competition for the most beautiful biodiverse garden.
- Every primary school should have a green playground, because a green, challenging and adventurous school play area has numerous advantages. A stimulating layout challenges varied play: scrambling and climbing, running, jumping. Secure corners invite fantasy and role-play. Children can also simply find peace and quiet.Â
