Our vision
Despite the hard work of municipal workers, some places still look dirty. And dirt attracts dirt. We want a clean Tervuren with everyone taking responsibility to give a town we can be proud of.

Our priorities
- We are introducing Diftar. That is a DIFferentiated TARiff for waste collection. Waste will then be collected in containers and weighed each time you take out the container. Charges will be based on the weight in the container (not via bags as now), so the polluter pays. Quite a few municipalities in Flanders have introduced this. Their waste figures clearly show that the amount of waste is falling. Other advantages are that foxes and crows cannot get into containers, so there is no more waste lying around. The conditions for Interrand's workmen will improve considerably as they no longer have to carry and throw heavy waste bags. The containers are lifted by truck and tipped out. One disadvantage is that not everyone has room to store several containers, even small ones, so we will provide underground containers in built up areas.
- To combat fly-tipping, we are introducing cameras as in Overijse and Hoeilaart.
- There is nothing so unpleasant as dog mess on the pavement so we will be providing more disposal facilities for dog poo.
